Ballinclare Fair was originally held in the townland of that name, about a mile outside Annascaul Village, on 1 May and 4 October. In the nineteenth century the fair moved into the Main Street of the village, but retained its old name. By the 1950s the fair had died out, but was revived in 1998. The fair is held on the first Sunday in May (a sheep fair) and the first Sunday in October (horse fair). As well as livestock there is plenty to entertain the visitor, including children's entertainments, a pet show, stalls selling merchandise and music in and around the local pubs.
