Lisbeth Mulcahy Weaving ~ Siopa na bhFíodóirí

Details

Siopa na bhFíodóirí (The Weaver`s Shop) is the combined retail outlet and
weaving studio of one of Ireland`s foremost designers and contemporary tapestry
artists Lisbeth Mulcahy (1945 – 2023). The wild Atlantic west Kerry coast inspired
Lisbeth’s work. Her distinguished colourways and highly recognised undulating
designs reflect the beauty, stark contrasts and changing moods of the Dingle
Peninsula.
Siopa na bhFíodóirí is housed in a beautiful, listed building dated c.1850. It retains
most of its original features, including crafted counters, shelving and staircase.
Lisbeth’s wall hangings continue to be handwoven on the two large looms in the
weaving room on the first floor, which is open to public viewing. Her exclusive
contemporary collection of scarves and stoles are all locally woven using extra soft
and lustrous merino lambswool and smooth alpaca, and are suitable for both men
and women.
We also sell the work of Lisbeth’s potter husband, Louis Mulcahy, as well as other
works by Irish designers and craftmakers.
The shop is open Monday to Saturday throughout the year, and Sundays in the
Summer months.
